We are looking for an enthusiastic Project Manager to join our 8 80 Cities team. The Project Manager will have the opportunity to lead and deliver some of 8 80 Cities’ transformative mobility and public space projects and programs, innovative community engagement activities, and be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary team advancing healthy, sustainable, and equitable cities.
Position: Project Manager
Reports to: Executive Director
Start Date: TBD (early September anticipated)
Term: Full-time permanent position (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: $63,000.00 annually, paid bi-weekly, less statutory withholdings
Benefits: Extended Health, Dental, Life Insurance, Long-Term Disability. Employees are responsible for 100% of LTD premiums.
Paid Time Off:
Three weeks of vacation per year (pro-rated to the term of employment).
Five personal sick/emergency days with pay per year. Five office closure days with pay per year.
Location: The 8 80 Office is located at 364-401 Richmond Street West, Toronto. We are looking for a candidate based in the GTHA.

Job Description – Project Manager
The Project Manager position plays a key role in advancing the 8 80 Cities mission. The Project Manager oversees and manages the coordination and administration of all aspects of their assigned projects and programs. This is a leadership position. This role includes project development, budgeting, communication, implementation, and evaluation. The Project Manager works closely with diverse partners, funders, clients, and fellow 8 80 Cities staff to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and with clear community benefit and social impact.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of project management experience
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in urban planning, public health, transportation, architecture, urban design, community development, or other related fields
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated high attention to detail.
- Experience collecting quantitative and qualitative data and translating data into key insights and recommendations.
- Experience developing and writing, research, planning, and/or policy reports.
- Demonstrated knowledge and subject matter expertise in inclusive public space design, community engagement, sustainable mobility and city building issues.
- Experience developing project proposals and grant applications.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at a time.
- Willingness to learn, be adaptable and flexible, be a leader, and team player.
- High level of experience and proficiency in technical design-oriented software (Adobe Suite, GIS) considered an asset.
